When a baby is born, it is customary to perform the Aqiqah as a part of following the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teachings. This involves sacrificing livestock, like goats and sheep. Typically, it is done on the seventh day after the birth, but it can also be done later without any issue. The meat from the sacrifice is then shared among the family members involved in the ritual, often being distributed to those who are less fortunate and in need.
